How to get the look

Steeped in seductive scents, this glorious combination of fragrant plants will provide colour and purfume from the depths of winter to the height of summer. Starting with the daphne in December, followed by the viburnum, lily-of-the-valley and lilac in succession during the spring, with summer flowering philadephus and clematis providing the perfect crescendo.

Planting tip: Bear in mind that sheltered, sunny areas of the garden will concentrate the scent, while exposed positions will allow the aroma to be dispersed more widely.
